Phil Klevorick is the cofounder and CEO of The Rugby Foundation established in 2018 as a 501(c)(3) charity based in Las Vegas, Nevada with a mission to use the ethos of rugby to create better individuals and communities through education, mentorship and leadership throughout the America's and beyond.
The Rugby Foundation (TRF) has 4 primary pillars of support:
- Youth development, education and leadership;
- Adaptive sport initiatives;
- Women's focused pathways in sports, and
- Uniformed services programs including police, military, fire and all frontline personnel.
Phil, originally from the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador (Canada), moved to the United States over 20 years ago. As a former Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman as well as other roles he has held in varying capacities including over 38 years in rugby, the need to help communities directly and in particular the underserved portions, has become a focus for TRF. Our programs look to support after-school activities as well helping spur other initiatives for youth and adults such as their annual Salute2Services Rugby Tournament, RuckUCancer and RugbyKickStarter. All of our youth programs are non-contact and therefore encourages participation for all genders and ages.
Health and wellness programs are built into all aspects so that participants can feel better and connected to others. Our podcasts during the pandemic have had a real focus on supporting those who may have PTSD or mental conflicts so they can become comfortable about talking with others who may be experiencing similar concerns. Please take a moment to visit our social media platforms including our website www.therugbyfoundation.org and if interested, please reach out as we are always engaging additional support for our program
